I'm constantly chopping and changing the products I wear on my face, for me, its all about the mood I'm in. There are some days when I want a lighter base and a peach blush, and others where I want to go all out and use a full coverage foundation and stroll out like a brass band with the bronzer.
With that being said I have found a few products that seem to have every base covered - no pun intended - and with the exception of blush, these haven't changed much over the last couple of weeks.

Using a primer first is something I have started doing and I love the way it makes the rest of my makeup sit and look. Recently I have been obsessed with the Dior Glow Maximiser Light Boosting Primer (£25.65, 30ml). I will either mix a pump of this in with my foundation, to give a more lightweight effect, or use a layer beforehand. It gives such a nice rosy glow to skin and I have a feeling this is going to be well loved in the spring and summer too!
As for foundation I have been using something I got last year and have only just got back into, it's the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation ($38.00, 1.7oz). This is quite a strange texture, one I haven't come across before. It's almost like a thick mousse-y cream which does blend nicely. Its high coverage, however during the day, adding a pump of the Dior primer knocks the coverage down a peg a two and makes it lovely and wearable for the day. You can pick this up on QVC too, and it comes with a handy little brush.

Not much has changed in the concealer department and I'm still, like always, using my Origins Plantscription Concealer (£15.30, currently on sale in Debenhams!). I have just purchased a new tube of this which excites me greatly. This is such a lovely formula for under the eyes and around the face. It's not drying which is great, and the coverage is also good. If you have any other concealer recommendations please leave them below so I can attempt to branch out! Not making any promises though...

Clinique is one of those brands that seem to do simple, fuss free skincare that suit everyone. For a higher end brand I don't think the prices are ridiculous and they do some lovely items if you're just jumping on the skincare bandwagon!

For the morning time I like to keep my skincare simple and I don't like to use to many products because lets be honest, who has time for a full blown skincare routine in the morning?..
Using a light moisturiser that hydrates but sinks in and is a good base for makeup is a must. I love the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion (£29.00) because it's exactly that! I used to use this and have rediscovered it and have found it the perfect moisturiser to use before makeup. This also comes in a gel formula for oily skins, but the lotion is geared towards normal/dry.

Under eyes its exactly the same story and their All About Eyes Cream (£26.00) is a must as well! It reduces puffiness and you only need a little bit so this will last you. The formula is a cream-gel and it holds makeup under the eyes really well. I'm not massively adventurous when it comes to eye creams so when I find one I like I do tend to stick to it and this one I can see being repurchased many many times!

I do love my luxury high end brands, but sometimes there is no need to fork out 20 odd quid for something thats just as good at the drugstore. I'm willing to invest in foundations, good quality eye shadows and lipsticks but some things don't seem as worth it. I'm just covering makeup here but if you would like me to talk through various other beauty bits to save on then please let me know in the comments.

A good base is key to any makeup look and a good foundation and concealer duo isn't impossible to find within Boots, however your choice is limited. If you're looking for a face powder however, the drugstore will have you covered. High-end wise, MAC do some great powders and I know theres a few from Chanel that are very loved and of course the Hourglass Lighting Powder, but you'll find ones just as good from lower-end brands. A few of my favourites include, The Soap and Glory Kick Ass Powder  (£12.00), Rimmel Stay Matte (£3.99) and the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder (£8.99) which are all lovely powders that mattify the skin without it looking cakey. If you're not a great powder lover I would suggest trying these out as they may well change your mind!

Mascara and eyeliner are both things I very rarely walk out of Boots and Superdrug for. I know many people love mascaras from higher end brands, and of course they are great, but there are ones just as good for a lot less. L'Oreal and MAX Factor are my favourite mascara brands, they have lots of different options for lengthening and volumising and they are all rather excellent. No7 also do some great ones and Maybelline offer some which I know are very raved about. The same goes for eyeliner and although the Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen and the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner entice me greatly, £40 for an eyeliner is not worth it in my eyes. They may last a bit longer but I go through them so quickly I would rather pay a bit less. The Soap and Glory Supercat Liner (£6.00) is amazing, its super black, lasts well on the eyes, has a great felt tip nib which is easy to use and doesn't dry up quickly! For liquid liners I would recommend the Rimmel Exaggerate Liner (£5.29), and for pencils the Rimmel Scandal Eye Liners (£3.99) are an amazing dupe for the Urban Decay 24/7 liners!

Since the launch of the much loved Real Technique brushes my MAC ones have started to collect dust..I think Real Techniques have you covered in terms of brushes, they have one for everything and they're great quality and very soft! Zoeva is also a brush brand which has been new on the scene over the past couple of years. Their brushes are inexpensive too, but very lovely and they also come in some great sets if you're starting out with makeup.

I love to have dewy, glowing skin and I think its definitely an all year round trend that can make a nice, subtle difference to your makeup. I figured as winter is coming to an end that I would share with you my favourite highlighting products to transition that dull, wintery skin into spring.

To get that glow from within, I think primers that also have highlighting properties are the best way to go. They help to smooth out the skin, inject some life and glow as well as helping your makeup sit better and last longer. The Dior Glow Maximiser Primer (£28.50, 30ml) is a lovely option, but a pricey one too, so definitely one to save your Boots advantage points for! I use 1-2 pumps of this and it has a pinky undertone so its more rosy than bronzy which is pretty for everyday.

Moving on to actual highlighters theres a few that I have and go back to. We'll start out with the two cream products. Benefits Watts Up (£24.50) was the first cream highlighter I tried and now I'm definitely a convert. Its a twist up product which you sweep over your cheekbones and down the nose then simply blend it out. It does come with a little sponge on the end, but I tend to just use my fingers. Its a beautiful champagne gold and blends into the skin like a dream. A slightly cheaper alternative is the Topshop Glow Highlighter in Polish (£9.00). This is a similar shade to the Benefit one but a bit more creamy and comes it a pot. I do find with this one that its a bit harder to blend but it does give a lovely sheen to the cheeks and a great pick if you're on a budget.

As you can probably tell when it comes to highlighting, I love my champagnes and my MAC Soft and Gentle MSF (£23.00) is along a similar line. This is a finely milled powder which has a gorgeous amount of shimmer to it. Out of the four, this one is the most shimmery, but for a night out you can totally get away with it, as long as you don't go too crazy. This is the product that got me into highlighting and I know its loved by a lot of bloggers out there.

Over the winter I fell in love with these two shades from Essie. The muted pastel blues are very whimsical in my eyes and they are such pretty colours and a bit different from your typical winterly dark, burgundy shades.

 The first is Who Is The Boss (£10.95, 15ml) which is a beautiful, blue-y green, almost like a duck egg blue, which is my favourite colour so no wonder I love this so much! Two coats of this and you can achieve a nice opaque look and with a good top coat, it can last a good 5 days.

 Moving on to the second shade, Find Me In Oasis, which is a lot lighter then Who Is The Boss. It's an off white shade with a hint of lilac and blue. This is such a lovely nail polish and it makes your hands look a bit more tanned..always handy in the winter!

As Valentines is just around the corner I thought I would give you some inspiration on what to do makeup wise. Even if you're snuggled up with Ben and Jerrys and a good chick flick, this is still a pretty, feminine look wearable for most occasions.

I wanted to keep the base nice and fresh so I went with my trusty Liz Earle Signature Foundation (£21.00, 25ml). This gives a natural finish and blends into the skin like a dream, it's definitely one of my favourites. I then reached for my Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer (£6.99, 9g) to conceal and brighten under my eyes, then set it all in place with some powder. I used the MAC MSF Natural (£22.00, 10g) but a great one from the drugstore is the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder (£8.99) which gives the same weightless, cake-free effect.

On my cheeks I bronzed up with The Body Shop Honey Bronzer (£13.00, 11.5g) which is really lovely, matte bronzer. I then added some Laura Mercier Lush Nectarine Blush (£20.50, 3.6g) to my cheeks to inject some colour into my face. I love this blush, is a beautiful coral pink shade and it gives off such a natural and pretty glow.

For my eyes I kept it fairly simple but wanted to use a champagne shade to keep the look oh so romantic. I swept MAC Bare Study Paint Pot (£15.50) over my lids. This is such an old favourite of mine and I love the sheen it gives, very appropriate for Valentines! I blended it out with a matte brown shadow then did my eyeliner using the Soap and Glory Supercat Liner (£6.00), which is an excellent drugstore liquid liner. I then curled my lashes (a must on Valentines) and used the MAX Factor False Lash Effect Mascara (£10.99, 13ml) to coat my top and bottom lashes.

I definitely wanted to do pink lips as I thought it was rather fitting for the occasion. I went for the NARS Yu Satin Lip Pencil (£17.50) which can be quite intense, so I just patted it in and went a bit blotting crazy to tone it down. I think this is such a pretty colour and the formula is really nice and moisturising.

Finding a bronzer that could replace my much loved Laguna, I thought would be near impossible, however theres one from the drugstore which has been rivalling it for some time now...

I think just from looking at it you can tell my Soap and Glory Solar Powder (£11.00, 9g) is very well loved. Compiled with two different shades which you can mix or use separately if you're feeling a bit more particular, this is a great choice for everyday. Being both matte shades makes this very wearable and also great for contouring. The darker shade can come off a tad orange if you're on the paler side, but mixed in with the lighter shade which is a lot more neutral toned, it should work a treat.

Application wise, I like a slightly bigger fluffy brush to just sweep this pretty much all over my face. The Real Techniques Blush Brush (£9.99) is a great option as its slightly tapered at the end so if you do want to focus on one area, such as the cheek bones, you can.

The only thing I'm not so keen on is the packaging. I find cardboard can become useless after a certain amount of time and is prone to falling apart. I haven't had any problems thus far so I guess I'll just sweep that to one side.

For the price I really don't think you can beat this bronzer. Yes, its been hyped a lot, but all for good reason, so I would definitely recommend this.

When Marks and Spencer's started to stock brands like Ren and Nuxe, it's safe to say I got a little excited! For those of you who may not have ventured into their beauty hall I'm going to share with you my top picks so you get an idea of what to look out for!

First of all, having a place that stocked Ren in my town was kind of a big deal for a skincare lover like myself. I put off buying the Ren 1 Minute Facial (£32.00, 75ml) but it kept calling my name and the temptation was too good to beat. If you are in need of quick skin fix then this is your guy! It contains little exfoliating beads which you massage into your skin which release vitamin C which helps rejuvenate the skin and make it feel very soft.
Another skincare find is the Galmglow Youthmud Mask (£49.50, 50ml). This definitely isn't the cheapest of masks but it does a very good job at detoxifying the skin. This is one those masks where after 5 minutes trying to smile and talk are just off the cards, but that does mean its pulling out all the impurities, so I guess its not all bad! Marks and Spencers have just started to stock Glamglow so if you haven't tried the brand before due to the fact its hard to get hold of, you no longer have to worry about that.
Nuxe is anther brand which I was excited to have a little snoop around. The Reve de Miel Lip Balm (£9.50, 15g) has to be my favourite balm I've tried. This can also double up as a lip mask if you're having a extra dry lip day, which happens more than you may like in the winter. It's a beautiful thick consistency which I tend to apply before bed so it can work its magic overnight. I also have this in the stick form which is perfect for popping in your bag.

As for makeup, Stila is definitely a brand I would check out. Their Convertible Colours (£16.00, 4.25g) are lovely, especially as spring is soon approaching. I have the shade Gerbera which is a beautiful light pink. I definitely want to pick up a couple more of these, and they can also be applied in the lips which is great if you're trying to downsize your makeup bag!

My hair definitely doesn't receive much love when it comes to the morning. I'm too busy shovelling cereal down my mouth and making sure my clothes aren't tucked in anywhere they shouldn't be, and then I walked out the door and realise my hair's a mess. Dry shampoo will be your best friend in the morning and I know waking up half an hour earlier to wash your hair is an extremely daunting task, so why do it? I love the COLAB Extreme Dry Shampoo (£4.50, 200ml) this new formula offers more volume than before but still manages to produce little residue..amazing! A few sprays of this in the morning, brush it in and you're good to go.

If you want something thats going to style your hair a little bit more then I have two options for you. First is the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish Spray (£21.50, 120ml). This a nice option if you want a bit more texture and grit to your hair. I managed to pick up a little mini size in Boots which I love as I can carry it in my bag and whip out when my hair needs it. Sea salt sprays are another quick way to add a little something something to your hair. I like to especially use these in the summer to get those beachy, just stepped out of the sea in a sexy manner type waves. The Toni and Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray (£7.49, 200ml) is the one I've used for years and I love the lived in look it gives your hair. It also smells great!

Recently I've been trying to find new products I can work into my skin care routine to give it a bit of an upgrade. Since winter, my skin has been very dull and a soothing evening cleanser and a quick skin fixer were definitely absent from my skincare drawers.

I've heard so many good things about the REN One Minute Facial (£32.00) that I was dying to pick it up. The price stopped me first and I debated whether or not I actually needed it, but don't worry I soon caved! This is designed to make your skin feel super soft as well as injecting life and radiance back into the skin, and all in 60 seconds! I have to say from the couple of times I've used it, I'm impressed. Once you start massaging it into the skin the vitamin C activates and starts working is magic!

I also picked up the Elemental Herbology Bio-Celullar Super Cleanser (£17.60) which I have been using in the evenings. This smells like a spa and I love the way it feels on the skin. I don't think this is a bad price for what it is, it does a great job at brightening and cleansing the skin. It's also great for more mature women as it helps with sustaining cell turnover. If you're on the search for a new nighttime cleanser that will really detoxify the skin, this is great.

This month I've been a big fan of keeping things nice and nude and really channeling the natural makeup vibes!

Nude lips isn't something I used to be a big fan of. I found it hard to find shades that didn't make me look dead..and after the discovery of MAC Patisserie, I was a lot more open to wearing them. This month though its been all about NARS Descanso Satin Lip Pencil (£17.50), this shade isn't a part of their permanent line, however the shade Rikugien is very similar! It's a lovely pinky nude which has a satin finish which I think is why I like it so much. These feel so nice and smooth on the lips, I can't get enough of them!
Continuing the nude theme, my nails have experienced no different. Essie Cocktails and Coconuts (£7.99) has been my nail obsession and I've been wearing it non stop. I have the same problem with nude nails, that they tend to make me look dead, so finding one that suits me is quite the challenge. This has a slight shimmer running through it and is a great beige nude option. Skin tone is everything when finding nudes so just experiment and find out what tones and shades suit your complexion and go from there!

Moving on to more base products now, the eye cream I have been loving is the Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream (£26.00). I love how universal Clinique skincare is and this one is no different. I find that if I'm trying to pack lightly for trip this can double up as my eye cream for morning and night. Its a beautiful consistency which is thick enough to moisturise but it also sinks in like a dream. If you don't have many fine lines under the eyes and you're looking for a simple eye cream that does it all, this is the one for you!
Lastly primer has been something I've been reaching for a lot this month. I find it makes my makeup last longer and prevents it going all patchy throughout the day. The one that I have been using and swear by is the Hourglass Viel Primer (£20.00, 10ml), I always buy the smaller bottle as I find I don't use it up very quickly so am not willing to fork out £52 for the 30ml..It's mineral based and also contains a SPF of 15 which is great for protecting your skin (although I would recommend using a high SPF in the summer!). My skin feels so smooth after and my foundation always applies and looks better.

PS: The ring is from TOPSHOP and I love it! Also a favourite of mine!
